The Bike Path

When I was in junior high, my friend Chris and I would ride our bikes at night when the weather was warm. There was a dead-end street nearby, with a trail across a field that ended up at an industrial park, and we would go there to see all the cool stuff. Once we found a kitten who appeared to live in a stack of pallets. For several nights, we brought it food and water. Then we didn't see it anymore. 1991
