From November, 1999, until October, 2004, I did not paint.
For three of those five years, I was mostly in a drunken stupor. Then I met a lady who re-introduced me to a forgotten friend. His name is Jesus and he eventually showed me how to live again. I married the lady (Adrienne) and picked up a paint brush two years later. This is my first "reborn" work. It's a house I would ride my bike past on the way home from AA meetings. I painted it too bright (it really sort of lurks in the half-light), maybe because I'd seen enough darkness for a while. I may do it again, darker. Oil on panel, 24"X36", 2004

if a human figure were present in the image, it could be attributed to Edward Hopper (my favorite painter). Superb image.
